KARACHI, March 15: Four ships carrying containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Berth occupancy at the Bulk Oil Piers rose to 100 per cent thanks to steady arrivals of oil tankers and as a result all the operational BOPs remained occupied. On the dry berths, it fell to 48 per cent.
Four vessels, Jamila, Al-Gharrafah, Isola Rossa to offload and load containers and to load rice and molasses respectively, Mina to unload crude oil were berthed after the departure of three.
The ships, which departed included Maersk Pride, Leixoes and Charlotte Schulte, while Sinar Bangka, Fantom, Isola Rossa are due to sail out on Saturday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 61,445 tons comprising 32,217 tons of export cargo including 844 tons of rice and 9,800 tons of molasses and 29,228 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Sima Kija, Metero, Hyundai Highway and PONL Everest, with containers. Bunga Mas Empot, Kang Chang and Yapi are due on Sunday.
