Muslims hail verdict
NEW DELHI: India’s Muslim leaders welcomed on Wednesday a supreme court ruling barring the hardline Hindus from holding a controversial ceremony at a disputed religious site in the northern town of Ayodhya.
“Let the tension be defused, and let the nation heave a sigh of relief,” said Yousuf Muchala, an executive member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.—AFP
