KARACHI, March 13: Six ships including a rice loader Al-Ghraffah are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Berth occupancy at the wharves was maintained on the higher side, 67 per cent at the BOPs and 52 per cent on the dry wharves as berthing and sailing schedules were strictly adhered to.
Four ships, Lanka Mahapola, Mira to unload and load containers, Pontonikis to offload rapeseed, and Titan Venus to unload phosphate were berthed after the sailing of two.
The ships, which departed included Gefion and Banglar Gourab, while Laka Mahapola, X-Press Dhualagiri, Titon Veuns, Mira and Maersk Pride are expected to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as the tonnage handled totalled 72,079 tons comprising 22,485 tons of export cargo and 49,594 tons of import cargo.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Johar, with crude oil, Mina, with chemicals, Jamila and Al-Ihsaa, with containers, Trina, with general cargo and Al-Ghraffah to load 3,800 tons of rice.
