KARACHI, March 12: At least 21 vehicles — nine cars and 12 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Tuesday.

Police sources said that three cars where hijacked and six others were stolen in different localities.

Bandits hijacked four motorbikes and stole eight others in various areas of the city. Police claimed to have recovered a stolen car (K-7960) and three motorbikes (KCT-9989, KCT-1251, and KAA-5949).

A spokesman for the Anti-Car Lifting Cell said they had arrested eight suspects- Tahir Siraj, Syed Ali, Afsar Nawaz, Mohammad Saleem, Abdul Jabbar, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Khan and Abdul Ghaffar- in Nazimabad and recovered seven TT pistols, two stolen cars (CK-8208, CL-6719) and a motorcycle (KCK-6226) from their possession. The ACLC would conduct more raids on the lead of the arrested suspects to recover more vehicles, he added.
