KARACHI, March 12: Six ships carrying crude oil and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.
Ship movements at the wharves were maintained on the higher side thanks to steady arrivals as six ships were berthed after the sailing of as many. The berth occupancy at the BOPs and the dry wharves was 33 and 37 per cent respectively.
The ships, which were berthed included Beauty River, X-Press Dhaulagiri, Mildburg, Bunga Mastiga to unload and load containers, Pavonis to unload general cargo and Maersk Pride, to load naptha.
The departing ships were led by Winco Feeder, Parvat, Mildburg, Bunga Mastiga, Shirvan and Boniyas, while Gefion, Banglar Gourab and Beauty River are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active thanks to larger handling of liquid cargo, rising to 85,919 tons comprising 6,617 tons of export cargo and 79,302 tons of import tonnage including 46,568 tons of oils.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: Prestige, with crude oil, Mira, Sinar Bangka, Leixoes, MSC Mirella and Charlotte Schulte, with containers.
