Karachi Port operations

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 11: Three ships including Titon Venus carrying 600 tons of palm oil are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Meanwhile, ship movements at the wharves were relatively slow owing to fall in arrivals of incoming ships. As a result, berth occupancy both at the dry wharves and the BOPs fell to 38 and 33 per cent respectively.

Three ships, Parvat, Winco Feeder to unload and load containers, and Shirvan to offload crude oil were berthed after the sailing of four.

The departing ships were led by Kota Ratu, Hyundai Advance, Kota Selamat and May Kop, while Shirvan, Winco Feeder, Bunga Mastiga, Boniyas, Banglar Gourab and Parvat are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Owing to larger handling of liquid tonnage, the total was maintained on the higher side as import tonnage rose to 60,630 tons and export cargo to 12,912 tons.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Titon Venus, with palm oil, Mira, with containers and Pon Tonikis, with rapeseed.
