KARACHI, March 10: Seventeen vehicles — eight cars and nine motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Sunday, the police said.

Five cars were hijacked. Three others were stolen.

Four motorcycles were hijacked. Five others were stolen.

BODY FOUND: Body of an unidentified woman was found, stuffed into a suitcase, outside the office of the councillor in Manghopir on Sunday.

The police said that the body of an unknown woman, who was in her mid-20s, was found in Mianwali Colony, Manghopir. The police said that they had been informed by the councillor of UC-9 that a metal suitcase had been lying outside his office in Mianwali Colony. A police mobile was sent to the area, and the police found the suitcase locked. After breaking the lock, the police found the body of a young woman inside the suitcase.

The police said that apparently the body had no marks of injury, except marks of minor injury on the hands.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

Sources at the hospital said that the woman was throttled to death, and she was also suspected to have been raped.

DIES: A woman died in a quarrel in Azizabad on Sunday.

The police said that trouble started in Naimat Colony, Azizabad, on late Saturday night when residents saw some young men smoking charas and asked them not to do so.

Soon supporters of both the groups appeared there and a free for all started during which sticks and stones were used. Seema Bibi, aged 45, was injured.

She was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The police said that the woman died in the hospital on early Sunday morning.
