KARACHI, March 8: An exhibition of paintings, ceramics and sculpture, titled Uraan (flight), will open at The Amin Gulgee Gallery on Saturday at 5.30pm, says a press release.

The exhibition, organized by Zenaini and curated by Sairah Irshad Khan and Nilofur Farrukh, is “an eclectic canvas, comprising the works of 33 artists and covering the spectrum of Pakistani art”.

The press release adds that the collection showcases select works of artists from all tiers. Included are masters like Colin David, Ismail Gulgee and Jamil Naqsh. Meher Afroz, Nahid Raza, Mussarat Mirza and Rashid Arshed are among those who represent the group that emerged in the 1980s. Landscapes of Raja Chengez Sultan and others bring another sensibility. The works of Ghalib Baqar, Iqbal Hussain, Najme Sura, Qudsia Nisar and Shakeel Siddiqui will also be on display.

The collection, which will continue till March 19, comes from Quetta, Islamabad, Sukkur and Lahore.
