DADU, March 4: A police constable, Zulfiqar Ali Chandio (24), was killed by two armed men in Shahbaz Colony, Dadu town, on Sunday night.

The constable was headed home after performing his duty at the district and sessions court. When he arrived at Moundar Nako, the two armed men suddenly appeared and shot him dead on the spot. They immediately fled on a motorcycle.

Soon the SHO, Dadu town police, Mukhtiar Ahmed Sario, arrived there along with a heavy contingent of police. Mr Chandio’s body was sent to the Civil Hospital, Dadu, for an autopsy.

Mr Chandio’s father, Abdul Majeed, told police that about two months back, his grandson, Gulsher, had kidnapped the daughter of a landlord from the Gul Chandio village. He further said that Gulsher then got married to the girl. So the girl’s cousins, Suhbat Chandio and Khamiso Chandio, retaliated by killing his son, Zulfiqar.
