Ganguly finds form

NEW DELHI, March 1: Skipper Saurav Ganguly rediscovered his touch to hit 78 not out as India, replying to Zimbabwe’s first-innings 329, reached 171 for four in the second and final Test Friday.

The left-hander hit his first fifty in 12 innings after promoting himself to number three.

Zimbabwe, though, ended the second day more than satisfied after their innings and 101-run defeat in the first Test at Nagpur, claiming the wickets of Sachin Tendulkar (36) and Rahul Dravid, run out for a single, in the space of two runs late in the final session.

Left-arm spinner Raymond Price won a tense battle against Tendulkar by trapping him lbw after tying him down on a barren, slow turner.

Tendulkar was forced to play an uncharacteristically dour knock, failing to score for almost an hour after tea.

Dravid was then run out by a direct hit from Travis Friend at mid-on after Ganguly refused a risky single, reducing India to 144 for four.
