ISLAMABAD, March 1: A 20-member trade delegation will leave for Kabul in the mid of this month to explore market access for Pakistani products.
The visit is aimed at promoting and highlighting Pakistani exportable products there with a view to take active part in the reconstruction of Afghanistan, President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Sohail A. Sethi told a news conference on Friday.
The delegation comprising manufacturers, traders, exporters and importers.
He said that the delegation would meet the Afghan interim government authorities to identify the products which were essential for the reconstruction of that country.
The delegation would also seek security for the smooth flow of their products into that country along with the availability of banking facility to Pakistani exporters.
Sohail said that a similar delegation of Afghan businessmen was expected to visit Islamabad shortly.
He said that for promotion of trading activities in view of reconstruction of Afghanistan, the RCCI is being organized 3rd Pakistan Industrial Fair 2002, scheduled for April 26 to May 20, 2002, at Rawalpindi. During the exhibition industrial people from across the country will exhibit their quality products, he added.
Appreciating the government incentives offered to exporters for enhancing trade with Afghanistan, he said it was now responsibility of businessmen to take maximum advantage of government incentives.
