KUWAIT CITY, Feb 27: An American soldier was killed on Wednesday during a military training mission in the northern Kuwaiti desert, close to Iraq, the US embassy said.
“A US army soldier was killed today at approximately 5.10am from a gunshot wound to the head,” the embassy said in a statement.
“The soldier was assigned to a training area in the desert approximately 40km northwest of Kuwait City in support of Operation Desert Spring,” it said. The soldier was pronounced dead at the scene.—AFP
