KARACHI: Eid festivity continues

KARACHI, Feb 25: Festivity was thick in the air in the city on Monday, the third day of Eidul Azha, though officially it was declared to be a working day across the country.

The day was perhaps the most eventful for the kids who not only availed the closure of their schools as an opportunity to witness performance, though few in number, of the ritual of Qurbani on road sides, but also thronged the zoo, beaches and other picnic points in large numbers along with their parents.

The merry-makers also included a large number of daily wage earners and those associated with certain private institutions where the day was declared holiday. Eatery outlets could be seen doing a roaring business the whole day.

The mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam was also a favourite site for the visitors who besides offering fateha at the Mazar enjoyed serenity of the atmosphere and were highly appreciative of the well-kept park within the premises.—APP
