KARACHI: 16 cars, 23 bikes hijacked in three days

KARACHI, Feb 25: Thirty-nine vehicles were either hijacked or stolen in the past three days in the city.

Police sources said bandits hijacked five cars and stole eight others on Saturday. Two motorcycles were hijacked and seven others were stolen the same day.

On Sunday, two cars were hijacked and one was stolen. One motorcycle was hijacked and seven others were stolen.

On Monday, two motorcycles were hijacked and four others stolen.

The police sources also claimed to have recovered four stolen cars and nine motorcycles in the city in the past 72 hours.

DROWNED: An infant drowned in a water-filled bucket in his home in a shanty town in North Nazimabad on Saturday.

Sajjad Shah, a rickshaw-driver and resident of Nusrat Bhutto Colony, told police that his one-and-a-half-year old son, Bilal Shah, was in the veranda where he fell into a water-filled bucket. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
