KARACHI: Bandit killed

KARACHI, Feb 25: A shopkeeper shot a bandit to death and wounded another on late Friday night near Sobhraj Hospital in Burnes Road.

Police said two alleged bandits forced their entry into a shop owned by Sohail and snatched cash from him. As they were leaving the shop, Sohail fired on them with his licensed pistol. Both the alleged bandits were wounded and taken to a hospital where one of them, identified as Faheem, aged 25, was pronounced dead on arrival. His accomplice, Mehboob, was admitted to the hospital.

DIES: A woman died in mysterious circumstances in her parents’ home in PIB Colony on Saturday.

Naheed Begum told police that her daughter Quratul Ain was married to Mehmood Alam, who was a faith healer. She said Quratul Ain came to see her parents on Saturday and died. She alleged that her son-in-law gave his wife something to eat or drink, which caused her death.
