Karachi Port operations
KARACHI, Feb 21: Two ships carrying wheat and chemicals were allotted berths at Marginal Wharf and IOCB Terminal respectively during the last 24 hours, says PQA press release on Thursday. Meanwhile, a container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage of the port. Five ships, Eline-G, Madre and Micheal-S, Orchid and Chemstar Eagle were at the berths loading/discharging wheat, furnace oil and chemicals respectively. A cargo volume of 45,242 tons comprising 38,148 tons import tonnage and 7,094 tons export tonnage was handled. Following is the detail of cargo handling: Description Imports Exports Wheat 1,405 7,094 Furnace Oil 34,752 — Chemicals 1,991 — Sub-total 38,148 7,094 Total 45,242 Three ships, Chemstar Eagle, Orchid and Madre were expected to sail out on Thursday. Following ships were at the outer anchorage: Vessel Commodity Agent Sag River Wheat P. Maritime Venture Furnace oil M.M.M Grand Ocean Wheat Diamond Mubara Avdeevka Wheat Alpine Maritime Francisca Schutle Containers Maersk Line Francisca Schutle was expected to take berth at QICT on Thursday.
