ISLAMABAD, Feb 21: The volume of trade between Pakistan and Romania increased by about 100 per cent during the financial year 2000-01 as compared to previous year as a result of efforts to develop bilateral economic relations.

Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Emil Ghitulescu made these remarks in an interview on Thursday.

He said: “I am highly convinced that there is tremendous trade potential between our countries and there are many other avenues for boosting Romanian-Pakistani cooperation.”

Talking about the forthcoming meeting of the joint economic session between the two countries, he said that a Romanian delegation, headed by Mihai Berinde, secretary of state in ministry of industry and resources, will arrive in Karachi on March 1 on a week long visit to Pakistan.
