LAHORE, Feb 20: Healthcare and education facilities have gone out of the reach of common man since the government has left both these sectors at the mercy of the private sector.
This was stated by Jamaat-i-Islami naib amir Liaquat Baloch while opening the extension block of gynaecology ward at the Mansoora Hospital here on Wednesday. The extension project was carried out with the cooperation of the Qatar Charitable Society.
Mr Baloch, who is also chairman of the Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan which is running the hospital, said the foundation had worked its utmost to provide a relief to the victims of US bombing in Afghanistan notwithstanding its political and strategic ramification.
“The Al-Khidmat network has been recognized as the biggest private organization after the UNHCR which provided organized relief work to the Afghans,” he claimed.
QCS director Suleiman al-Hawameda said his organization was working with welfare-oriented organizations keeping itself aloof from political and social affiliations.
