Surbaz Club win trophy

KARACHI, Feb 17: Surbaz Boxing Club South, bagged four gold and a silver medal, to pick up the Club Champions Trophy in the All Karachi City Government Boxing Championship held at the Ali Mohammad Qambrani Boxing Stadium, Kakri ground on Saturday night.

Faqir Colony Boxing Club West, with three gold and two bronze, were declared the runners-up.

In all 11 clubs from three Districts, South, West and East participated with 44 boxers seen in action on the two days of the competition.

CADET CLASS

32 KG : Majid Ali (SBBC) beat Shoib (MABC) on points 3-0.

34 KG : Asghar (MABC) beat Naveed Khan (Al BBC) on points 2-1.

36 KG : Adnan (LPBC) beat Shahid (MABC) on points 2-1.

39 KG : Nisar Ahmed (PSBC) beat Noshad (Al BBC) on points 3-0.

42 KG : Sain Dad (Al BBC) beat Babar (MMBC) on points 3-0.

45 KG : Zafar Iqbal (LPBC) walk over Asad (BTBC).

48 KG : Munir (FCBC) beat Akbar (MABC) on points 2-1.

51 KG : Jaffar Abdullah (LPBC) beat Imam Bux (SBBC) on points 3-0.

54 KG : Sabir (SBBC) beat Asif (PSBC) retired after first round.

57 KG : Farid (SBBC) walk over Zahid Hussain (TLBC).

60 KG : Sher Ali (NBC) beat Shoukat (MABC) on points 3-0.

JUNIOR CLASS

PIN 45 KG: AAmir Khan (FCBC) beat Ghulam Mustafa on points 3-0.

LIGHT FLYWEIGHT 48 KG: Samiullah (MABC) beat Babar Ali (BBC) on points 3-0.

FLYWEIGHT: 51 KG: Ashraf Khan (SBBC) beat Sheraz Ahmed (Al BBC) Referee stopped fight after second round.

BANTAMWEIGHT : Shahid Ali (FCBC) beat Aijaz Ahmed (Al BBC). Retired after first round.

Professor Anwar Choudhry, President of AIBA, was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the trophies to the winners and runners-up.
