MFN status

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Feb 14: The European Union and Northern America Free Trade (Nafta) nations must accord the “most favoured nation” (MFN) status to Pakistan to help it revive its economy that has been hit hard because of the Sept 11 events on the US soil and the war against terrorism.

This was demanded by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) president Dr Khalid J Chowdhry while addressing a delegation of the participants of the 31st Pakistan Naval Staff Course here on Thursday. He said Pakistan’s economy was dealt a severe blow in the last five months due to war in the region.

He said EU and Nafta should allow the Pakistani exports quota- free entry into their markets to boost its economy.
