KARACHI: Boy run over by bus

KARACHI, Feb 13: A 15-year-old boy and an elderly man died in road accidents in the city on Wednesday.

Shahzad, a student of class 9, died in a road accident in Gulshan-i-Iqbal. He was run over by a minibus of route G-19 (JE-8390) while walking across Sir Shah Sulaiman Road near Essa Nagri.

An elderly man was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle on Super Highway in the evening.

The police said that Mohibullah, aged 65, died in a hit-and-run accident.

WOUNDED: Bandits shot and wounded a man in his home in New Karachi on Wednesday.

Two men, posing as policemen, entered the house of Adil in New Karachi, and held him as hostage at gunpoint. Adil put up resistance to the bandits when they were collecting valuables and cash. The bandits became jittery, opened fire on Adil and escaped. Adil suffered bullet wounds and he was rushed to a hospital. The bandits got away with cash and valuables.
