Oil price steady

LONDON, Feb 13: The price of oil steady here on Wednesday despite figures showing that the recent rise in US crude stock levels continues unabated.

A barrel of benchmark Brent North Sea crude for March delivery was quoted as $20.46 a barrel, unchanged from Tuesday evening.

In New York, light sweet crude March futures fell 68 cents a barrel to $20.73.

Traders were digesting the US energy department’s weekly snapshot of US stock levels, which showed more rises.

Crude oil stocks rose by 2.5 million barrels in the week to February 8, gasoline inventories increased by one million barrels and distillate fuel stocks went up by 400,000 barrels.—AFP
