LAHORE, Feb 12: Sri Lanka and Pakistan will play the final of the 2nd Asian Test Championship (ATC) to be held at the Gaddafi Stadium from March 6 to 10.

Sri Lanka will be the first senior team of to tour Pakistan after Sept 11 attacks in New York and Washington.

Earlier, the Sri Lankan junior cricket team had visited Pakistan in November last year.

According to a press release issued by the PCB Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka has agreed to let the team play the ATC final in Lahore. Only Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka took part in the championship.

India did not take part in it because of its policy of not playing  in  any cricket competition in which  Pakistan  will  be participating.

AFP ADDS: PCB had also proposed a five-match one-day series in addition to the ATC final but it was turned down by the Sri Lankan Board.

Sri Lanka will arrive on March 1 for the Asian Test Championship and is likely to play a side game before the ATC final.

Pakistan won the first Asian championship in 1999, in which India also participated.
