KARACHI, Feb 12: The Sindh High Court has put the KESC managing director and some other officials, along with the Electric Inspector, on notice for Thursday, Feb 14, in a contempt application for wilful violation of the court’s order.

Justice Shabbir Ahmed passed the order on Monday when the contempt application of Malik Mohammed Javed, represented by Abul Inam, advocate, came up.

The application stems from the removal of some parts of the generators at Sabzazar lawns by a KESC team led by Major Sheerazi, in charge and/or member of the army monitoring team, with 20 army personnel and some plainclothed men and Assistant Electric Inspector Farhan.

The court also directed that the parts of the generators removed by the personnel of the KESC should be replaced in the presence of the official assignee. Two personnel of the rangers were also directed to be deputed to facilitate the official assignee in getting the court’s order complied with.

After the matter had come up on Feb 8, and the court had taken serious notice of the violation of its order and had issued notice to the contemnors, the plaintiff’s staff.
