KARACHI, Feb 12: A Dutch drug trafficker was sentenced on Tuesday to four years in jail by the special anti-narcotics court, headed by Judge Ali Nawaz Pirzada.

Siewtersad Balkaran, arrested on Nov 30 last year with one kilogram heroin by the Customs authorities at the Karachi airport, was also fined Rs25,000.

The judge ordered that the drug trafficker would have to undergo an additional two-month term in case of default on the payment.

The same court sentenced Abdul Wahid to a four-year term for possessing one kilo charas.

The drug trafficker, arrested on Sept 7, 1997 in Surjani, was also fined Rs1,000 and the judge ordered that he would undergo an addition 15-day term in case of default on the payment.
