Four die of cold

KHAIRPUR, Feb 9: Four persons including two minor children died and vegetable and fruit crops were affected as severe cold waves hit upper Sindh particularly Kutcha area of Khairpur district during last 24 hours.

The deceased included Khanzadi, 40, resident of Goth Jatoi, Safdar, 4, of Goth Wahan, Mohammad Hassan, 50, and Aqeela, 2, of Goth Ismail jo Pir.

In the Kutcha area fruit and vegetable crops were damaged and cattle were also affected.

On the other hand, the rates of fish and eggs marked an increase.

Gas supply particularly in morning hours was suspended in Khairpur, Ranipur and other towns.

The cold wave is still continuing due to which school and office attendance is low.
