KARACHI: Evening classes in colleges planned


KARACHI, Feb 9: A senior official of the Sindh government has called for looking into the possibility of initiating evening classes at the educational institutions in Karachi.

Additional chief secretary planning and development, Sindh, Shahzado Shaikh, issued a directive to this effect while chairing a meeting held here to review development schemes for the city district government Karachi, said a statement on Saturday.

It was stressed that the schemes transferred from the provincial government to the city government should be speeded up and completed within the stipulated time period.

The secretary also called for undertaking planning for introducing information technology and other modern technologies in all the technical institutions in Karachi.

He said that surveys should be carried out and recommendations made for the increase in the number of playgrounds in the city. The construction of buildings for indoor games should also be reviewed.

He directed that an improvement scheme be devised for enhancing the capacity of the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.— APP
