ORAKZAI: Tribes clash on coalmine

By Our Correspondent

ORAKZAI, Feb 9: Clashes erupted between Shiekhan and Mishti tribes over the ownership of a coal mine in Orakzai Agency on Saturday.

Rival groups have locked in fierce fighting since Friday evening and both sides were targeting each other’s positions.

Eyewitnesses said that both tribes were arming their supporters and taking positions on hilltops. However, no casualty have been reported so far.

They said a jirga of Mishti tribe also held in Mishti Milla. The jirga warned the rival group to vacate the possession by Sunday morning or prepare for further consequences.
