14 teams for ICC KnockOut

KARACHI, Feb 7: Sri Lanka has been awarded this year’s ICC KnockOut tournament that will run between Sept 11 and 30.

According to highly placed sources, the competition will be participated by all the 14 countries that will appear in next year’s World Cup.

Sources added that the draws of the competition will be finalized and approved during the Feb 10 and 11 Cricket Management Committee meeting scheduled at Christchurch.

New Zealand will defend the title they won at Kenya in 2000. Besides the other nine Test playing countries, Kenya and World Cup qualifiers Holland, Namibia and Canada will take part.
