LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 4: Health officials conducted surprise raids on different hotels, poultry vendors, tea merchants and confectioneries on Monday, collected samples and booked many for failing to maintain hygienic conditions.

A party, headed by deputy executive district officer health, assisted by a contingent of police raided various trading centres in Umer Gul Chowk, Micha Khel Adda, Mela Mandi and Bazaar Mina Khel to check commodities and inspect hygienic conditions, says a Press release issued by health authorities.

A number of commodities were found below standard. The team collected samples and booked many vendors and confectioners under relevant law, the press release added.

The raiding party booked three poultry vendors for founding in unhygienic conditions in their shops.

NABBED: Lakki police nabbed a number of outlaws, seized illegal arms and narcotics during January.

The police impounded nine stolen vehicle including five motor cars number 9099 DR, 2986-FDX, 7583- GP, 3223-SGD and 2397-Karachi; two pickups bearing registration numbers 2122-BUC and 1292-KK, oneflying coach 6136-LPT and one truck number 1374- KT, said a Press release here on Monday.

The police arrested 76 proclaimed offenders and seized illegal drugs, including 3,348gm hashish, 67gm heroine.
