Chinese firm assesses Saindak complex

By Siddiq Baluch

QUETTA, Feb 4: Top management of the Metallurgical Construction Company of China has visited the Saindak Complex and made initial assessments before taking over the copper and gold plant next month.

They are believed to be facilitating accommodation for around 300 Chinese experts, technicians, and skilled workers who are scheduled to reach Balochistan later this month— weeks before the resumption of production.

The Chinese will head their own specialised departments with a subordinate Pakistani staff including engineers and technicians. The government had leased out the complex to the firm last year.
