MULTAN, Feb 1: Governor Khalid Maqbool on Friday announced the implementation of a comprehensive project of sanitation for Muzaffargarh and Kot Addu and construction of Muzaffargarh bypass.
Addressing the district assembly, the governor said that Muzaffargarh had been granted a sum of Rs 360 million for development whereas Rs 25 million had been given for the promotion of education.
He called upon elected representatives to utilize the allocated amount judiciously. He asked the district Nazim to evolve different schemes for the elected women councillors and give them separate offices so that they could also participate in the process of progress and development of the nation.
He said education and health were priorities of the present government and 40,000 teachers would be hired to promote the cause of education in the province besides providing sufficient number of doctors in district and tehsil hospitals.
Maqbool said the government was paying special attention to the development of technical institutions where such courses would be introduced which could cater to the needs of local industry.
Addressing the delegation of Muzaffargarh industrialists, the governor said the government was providing necessary funds and resources to industrialists to enable the country generate more wealth and employment opportunities for the people of the area.
