KARACHI, Feb 1: Sindh health minister Maj-Gen Ahsan Ahmed on Friday presided over a meeting to review different projects for the supply of equipment to government hospitals, rural health centres and basic health units.
A press release issued here on Friday said the meeting was informed by the additional secretary development Dr. Hari Chand Ochani that at least Rs 725 million would be required for supply of hospital equipment, improvement of facilities at Taluka hospitals, RHUs and BHUs during next five years.
The meeting also discussed improvement of dialysis and other medical facilities at district hospitals in Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Badin and Karachi as well as People’s Medical College, Nawabshah.
The secretary health department and director-general were advised by the provincial health minister for submission of a summary of entire projects with an estimated cost within a week’s time.
The meeting was attended by Project Director EPI, Dr Shams, Project Director Women Health, Najma Ansari, Project Director Sindh Aids Control, Musharraf Ali Shah, Additional Secretary Procurement, Abdul Majid, Project Director, Family Health Care Programme, Hasna Memon.—PPI
