ISLAMABAD, Jan 31: The National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) has rejected applications for computerized national identity cards which have photographs of the applicants in a cap or turban.

Nadra has asked applicants to submit photographs without any cap or turban so that they can clearly be identified in the computerized ID cards.

The Authority has given March 23 as the last date for obtaining new national identity cards.

It has asked the applicants to submit coloured photographs with blue background as these cannot be tampered with.

However, several applicants, who have such photographs on documents like passports, driving licences, have criticized the new policy.
