SI found dead in his room

SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 31: A sub-inspector of the B-Division police was found dead on Thursday in his room in mysterious circumstances.

Police sources said that Nazir Ahmed had gone early to his bed due to pain in his chest on Wednesday night. He was either died due to cardiac arrest or food poisoning, they said.

The only bread-earner of his family, the deceased hailed from Kot Naiman, Shakargarh tehsil, Narowal district.

Amin was waiting for a bus on his way to Faisalabad when swindlers somehow relieved him of his purse.

City A-Division police have registered a case.

BHUs: A sum of Rs6 million will be spent on provision of electricity, potable water and other facilities in basic health units (BHUs) in the district.

This was disclosed by District Executive Officer (DEO) head Dr Mazharuddin in a meeting here on Thursday.

He said the health units would be equipped with latest technology to facilitate doctors and paramedical staff working without difficulties in the rural areas.

Under the Khushal Pakistan Programme (KPP), the government was making every possible effort to achieve the objective, he claimed.
