Two die, 20 hurt on road

KASUR, Jan 31: Two persons were killed while 20 others sustained injuries in two road accidents in and around the city on Thursday.

A speeding mini-bus on its way to Kasur from Pattoki overturned while taking a sharp turn near Darbar Baba Kamal Chishti. Consequently, Khadim Husain died instantly while 20 other passengers, including Perveen Ihsan, Nadia Perveen, Naziran Bibi, Liaquat, Munir, Yasir, Latif and Waqas, sustained critical wounds.

In another accident, a speeding pick-up (Karachi-854-512) crushed to death a cyclist, Mazhar, near Kot Radha Kishan.

YOUTH SHOT DEAD: A youth was shot dead on Thursday on suspicion in Mir Chandowala village, Kanganpur.

Muhammad Ismail and Allah Ditta suspected that Muhammad Naveed had an affair with their relative girl. They called Naveed out of his house, took him to fields and shot him dead.

Police have registered a case.

SNATCHED: Three armed robbers on Thursday snatched a motorcycle from a dispenser in Jajal Kalan village.

Shafiq was on way home by his motorcycle when he was intercepted by robbers near his village.

Area police have registered a case.
