SARGODHA, Jan 31: A campaign to remove encroachments and illegal occupants from the state land will soon be launched in the district.
This was stated by district Nazim Malik Amjad Ali Noon at a meeting with EDOs here on Thursday.
The Nazim directed the EDOs to prepare a detailed data about illegal occupants and encroachments.
He said the work on uplift projects had been started in the district with an expenditure of Rs220 million and directed the departments concerned to speed up the work on the project.
The participants were apprised that 140 schemes would be completed under the Khushal Pakistan Programme, adding a sum of Rs27 million would be spent on rural electrification. At least 40 of the 95 schemes surveyed by the Water and Power Development Authority would take Rs9.7 million for 14 projects.
It was informed that Rs11 million had been allocated for road surfacing.
Mr Noon directed the authorities concerned to hold a meeting of sugar cess fund without delay. It was also apprised that 52 schemes of district council would be completed with an amount of Rs21 million in the district.
Around 67 doctors would be enrolled on a contract to provide better medical facilities to the people in the far-flung areas, it was learnt.
MEETING: The government is taking steps to utilize the government’s property for public welfare, district Nazim told in a meeting.
The meeting was arranged to review the pace of work for converting the former commissioner’s house into a public library.
It was decided in the meeting that district council and the government would produce funds for the purchase of books.
