KARACHI, Jan 30: Four ships including rice loader Banglar Kallol to load 12,500 tons of the commodity are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday.
Berth occupancy both at the Bulk Oil Piers and dry berths was maintained at 100 and 64 per cent thanks to steady arrivals of tankers and containers, according to KPT sources.
Seven ships, Lanka Mahapola, X-Press Dhualagiri, Mira, Iran Matin and Blue Moon to unload and load containers and general cargo, L.M.Z. Valia and Shintoku to offload crude oil and chemicals were berthed after the sailing of two.
The ships, which departed included Conti Jork and River Dream, while Lanka Mahapola, Global Prosperity, L.M.Z Valia, Malakand and Iran Matin are due to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side thanks to larger handling of liquid tonnage as the total tonnage rose to 88,694 tons comprising 14,869 tons of export cargo and 73,825 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Sinar Bangka, Global Power, with containers, Bolan, with general cargo and Banglar Kallol.
KARACHI, Jan 30: Four ships scheduled to load/offload diesel oil, urea, furnace oil and edible oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Wednesday.
Five ships, Titanas, Kalisti, Mont Pelmo, Ipex Empress and Bright City were at the berths and engaged in loading/discharging wheat, containers and coal respectively.
The port handled some 23,884 tons cargo comprising 17,519 tons of import and 6,365 tons of export, in addition to 648 containers (Teus).
