US indefensible: Riyadh

WASHINGTON, Jan 29: Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah said it was “difficult to defend” the United States in the current environment because of the US support of Israel, in an interview published on Tuesday by both The New York Times and The Washington Post.

“As a member of my community, it is very difficult for me to accept what is happening in the territories because it is inhumane and violates basic principles and tenets,” the crown prince told the dailies in Arabic in remarks that were then translated.

US support for Israel, “an army that’s equipped with planes and tanks and helicopters confronting a people equipped with rocks,” makes it “very difficult to defend America,” he said..—AFP
