KARACHI, Jan 29: Three ships carrying containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Capebona Vista, Conti Jork to unload and load containers, Ping Jiang to offload and load general cargo and Golden Gate, to unload crude oil were berthed after the sailing of as many.

The berth occupancy on the Bulk Oil Piers was maintained on the higher side at 67 per cent thanks to steady arrivals of oil tankers. It was modest at 45 per cent on the dry berths.

The departing ships were led by Parvat, Capebona Vista, Sinar Bali and Kota Selamat, while Golden Gate, Mira, Conti Jork, Blue Moon and Macedonia Hellas are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Total cargo handled rose to 78,391 tons comprising 22,778 tons of export cargo and 55,613 tons of import tonnage including 43,200 tons of oils.

The following ships due on Wednesday: Global Prosperity and Leixoes, with containers and Malakand, with general cargo.
