Need for qualified TU leaders stressed
KOHAT, Jan 28: Challenges like globalization and open market demand that members of trade unions should be better qualified and conscious of quality control to boost exports and to achieve production targets.
These views were expressed by the participants of a seminar entitled, “Need for enhancing the capabilities of members of trade unions to meet the economic challenges” organized by the All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions (APFTU) here on Monday.
The speakers included provincial president of APFTU, Haji Abdul Latif, additional secretary general, Usama Tariq and Younis Shah, a well-known trade unionist popularly known as Fauji Badshah.
The speakers said that the world was passing through a very important economic phase. Much of the decisions made today would impact the social, political and economic conditions of many countries besides changing the lives of the people.
The speakers informed the participants that APFTU through arranging seminars discussed the Japanese economic revolution and the quality of their products for the benefit of local entrepreneurs and industrial workers.
Also, the establishment of businesses based on indigenous resources would help the country stand on its own feet and rid itself from the clutches of the IMF and World Bank.
