PESHAWAR, Jan 26: Lady Reading Hospital, the oldest and the largest hospital in the NWFP achieved a milestone by computerization of its various sections.

In the initial phase registration desk of the outpatient department has been computerized which is successfully functional since Jan 1.

It will be formally inaugurated in near future. Most of the work on the computerization of the account section has been completed. The process of computerization of the inventory is in progress.

Lady Reading is 1,400-bed hospital. Two thousands to three thousand  patients attend the outpatient department. The database had been generated which  is essentially required for the planning and management.  

The database has been designed through exhaustive exercises and efforts of the hospital management and a software developer.

Despite financial constraints and minimal resources, computerization has been achieved.

By this the hospital management will save time and stationary. It will also make any kind of manipulation of the record.

Various checks have been implemented to eliminate human error and prevent monitory pilferage.

Constant calculation and analysis reports have been programmed for optimal performance.
