SANGHAR, Jan 25: Three people were kidnapped by a seven-member gang of bandits from the Buddo Wassan village and Ibrahim Sanjran village on late Thursday night. The bandits were led by Yousuf Mari.

The heavily-armed dacoits went to the Buddo Wassan village and forcibly took the jeep of a landlord, Sawan Wassan, and forced his driver, Baboo Wassan, to take them to the nearby village of Ibrahim Sanjran.

The dacoits overpowered the villagers of Ibrahim Sanjran village and kidnapped two people — M. Sharif (35) and Iqbal (21). Mr Wassan who was driving the jeep was also taken along.

Mr Sharif is the brother of a landlord, M. Ibrahim Sanjrani, while Mr Iqbal is his son.

Later, the jeep was found abandoned near Berani Phatak.

As the victims are devotees of Pir Pagara, hundreds of devotees of Mr Pagara went in search of the dacoits.

A large number of policemen who were called from Shahpur Chakar, Berani, and Tando Adam too went in search of the dacoits. They took an armoured personnel carrier with them.

However, the police became extremely disappointed on reaching Jalal Mari, the favourite hideout of the dacoits, as none of them could be found there.
