KARACHI, Jan 25: The University of Karachi on Friday announced the results of M.A. final external annual examinations 2000.
ENGLISH: 51 students appeared in English out of whom six were declared pass. The first position went to Babra Yousuf with seat No. 10,041.
ECONOMICS: 507 had appeared in Economics out of whom 196 passed the examination. Shahid Agha secured first position, while Shahnaz Muhammad stood second and Amber Rafi third.
GENERAL HISTORY: 17 students were declared pass out of a total of 26. Aliya Saleem stood first, Shaha Tariq was declared second, while Rehana Parveen remained third.
ISLAMIC HISTORY: Farrukh Ehsan was first, Sobia Nazeer Sumiya second and Khalida Idrees third.
In all, 242 students had appeared in the subject, out of whom 67 got through.
IR: 681 students appeared in International Relations out of whom 458 passed the exam. Sadaf Akbar earned first position, and Suhaila Nusrat remained second, while Kashif Mujtaba bin Enayat and Farah Panjwani shared the third position.
POLITICAL SCIENCE: Mamoona Mazhar was first, followed by Shazia Shamim. Bucha Rehman and Zeb Ghaffar shared the third position. In all, 547 students had appeared in the subject, out of whom 188 got through.
MATHEMATICS: Eight students appeared in Mathematics but only one of them passed the exam.
SINDHI: Nazia Andaleeb got first position, while Quratun Ain and Adeeba Kausar scored second and third respectively.
In all, 22 students had appeared in the subject out of whom five were declared pass.
URDU: Out of a total of 118 students, 78 passed the exam. Noor Faraz was first, while Rizwana Naheed remained second and Fauzia Aziz was third.
Three students appeared in Arabic and one in Philosophy but none of them could pass the exams.—APP/PPI
