KARACHI, Jan 25: Three ships including two tankers to load naptha and molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest as berth occupancy fell to 48 per cent. Four ships, MSC Jasmine, Trade Fast to unload and load containers, Bunga Melawisdua to offload palm oil and Athenian Valour to unload crude oil were berthed after the sailing of five.

The ships, which departed included Swat, Leixoes, Jovanna, Sund Trader and Johar, while MOL Sincerity, MSC Jasmine, Kaghan, Byzantio, Al-Wattayah and some others are due to sail out on Saturday.

Owing to larger handling of liquid tonnage where a berthing occupancy was maintained at 67 per cent, the total tonnage handled rose to 96,269 tons comprising 30,739 tons of export cargo including 1,804 tons of rice and 19,500 tons of molasses and 65,530 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Gina to load 29,000 tons of molasses, River Dream to load 15,000 tons of naptha and Jamila, with containers.
