Donors urged to fund HR efforts

By Our Staff Reporters

ISLAMABAD, Jan 18: The world donors’ meeting in Tokyo on Jan 21-22 should fully fund human rights initiatives for Afghanistan, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) urged on Friday.

The conference— convened by Japan, the European Union, Saudi Arabia, and the United States— will discuss funding priorities and make commitments for Afghanistan’s reconstruction.

A press release issued by the HRW also urged the donors to fund the United Nations’s mission.
