QUETTA, Jan 17: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr Justice Bashir Jahangeeri, has urged lawyers to plead cases with full preparation so that judges could decide them easily and people get justice without delay.
He was speaking at a dinner hosted by Balochistan Advocate General Ashraf Tanooli in his honour here on Thursday.
The chief justice said that if serious efforts were not made to improve the judiciary people would loss faith in it.
“If we want to uphold the prestige of this institution we, the lawyers and judges, should work hard and fulfil all requirements of justice,” he said.
He asked the senior lawyers to set up lawyers penal for providing legal help to the people who have no financial resources to bear the expenditures of their cases.
Supreme Court Judge Justice Javed Iqbal, Balochistan High Court (BHC) Chief Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, Provincial Minister Malik Naeem Ahmed, Inspector General Police Dr Shoaib Saddle, senior judges of the BHC, senior lawyers, members of the bar council and other officers were also present on the occasion.
