Health units to be upgraded

PESHAWAR, Jan 17: District Nazim of Nowshera Pervez Khattak has said that all existing health facilities will be further upgraded so that the public could have access to medical services at local level.

He was responding to a complaint against lack of facilities in some union councils during district council session here on Thursday.

The district Nazim said that owing to certain limitations no health facilities could be established. However, he added that the provincial government was about to categorize health facilities as A, B and C grade at the district level and facilitate these units in accordance with the population of the locality.

Responding to a question raised by Faiz Ahmad, Nazim Union Council Muhib Banda regarding the purchase of substandard jute mats, the district Nazim said that the issue would be referred to the purchase committee for inquiry.

The Nazim said that developmental schemes would be initiated in the Union Council Khairabad as soon as funds from Afghan Refugees Commissionerate were made available.—PPI
