Four men die of drinking poisonous liquor

SUKKUR, Jan 16: Four men were killed after taking poisonous liquor in Gadani Mohalla early Wednesday morning.

Police sources said that four men — Lal Chand, Shyam Kumar, Hari and Rajoo — drank liquor on Tuesday night at a function and around midnight their condition deteriorated as a result of which they were shifted to the Civil Hospital Sukkur where they died around 4a.m.

Police are trying to find out from where they got the liquor. They were clueless till the filing of this report.

SCHEMES: Eighteen development schemes of Rs13 million have been approved by the district development working party, Sukkur.

The schemes were approved during a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Sukkur DCO Nisar Ahmed Siddiqi, at his office.

It may be mentioned that Rs73.836 million have been allocated by the government under the KPP Phase-III, out of which Rs21million have been released so far.

A sum of Rs656,000 will be spent on Ghulam Rasool Magsi village for electrification, Rs965,000 on Arab Maher village and Rs481,000 on Bachal Bhambhro village under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme.
