KARACHI, Jan 16: Four container vessels carrying about 2,000 units are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Meanwhile, brisk activity was witnessed at the wharves as 15 ships got berths and sailed out during the last 24 hours.
The ships, which were berthed included Lanka Mahapola, Trade Fast, Bombay Star, Bunga Bidara and Wan Hai-231 to unload and load containers, Astro Venus to offload vehicles and Nine Hawk to unload general cargo.
Eight ships, MSC Rosa-M, HSH Kusu, Astro Venus, Bombay Star, Bunga Bidara, Kota Salam, Nine Hawk and Jawaher departed, while Matumba, Sibi, Wan Hai-231 and Trade Fast are due to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 82,555 tons comprising 27,172 tons of export tonnage including 27,172 tons of molasses and 55,383 tons of export cargo was handled.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Kota Bakti, Safe Marine Wami, Gillian, with containers.
